Been a while since I made some tracks. Figured I get started on a new idea, based off an old one.
StarTropics has always been one of my favorite videogames to play growing up. Granted, the gameplay and humorous story kept me coming back to replay it over and over. But it was the music that inspired me and etched into my mind forever.
The Main Action Theme is the true reason why I started paying attention to video game music in the first place. One of the catchiest compositions of all time, IMO.
So... I figured I'd build on that.
Based on the first game's style of music, I decided to create new tracks to compliment it. Extending the finished soundtrack so to speak.
Keep in mind, these are not to be taken seriously. Just a little personal satisfaction.
TriCola - Picking up the first game's deal of naming islands with the word "cola" at the end of them, this track signifies one of the unexplored islands named TriCola, due to it's amazing shape of the ever popular TriForce of the Zelda games (who says this isn't a Zelda clone?!).
Main Action Theme 2 - As much as I love the first main theme in the dungeon areas, it was basically the ONLY action theme in the game besides the alien ship. So I figured I'd make another to give it some air.
That's all for now, but I plan on making more tracks down the line. Feedback is always welcome.
I actually just updated the first 2 tracks. Did a little polishing.
But here are 2 more new ones.
Theme of Mike - I always had this vision before the game actually begins, Mike is introducing himself in the helicopter on the way to C-Island. I imagined this would be the theme that plays in the background.
OmniCola - One of the more hidden islands. Known to have supernatural fables of mystery, and is in the shape of a claw. Said to be the original headquarters of the alien Zoda, who is not present at the moment...
