Hey guys, so this was that 2nd song I was working on. I hit a wall on it and messed around a bit, but ultimately think that it's done as far as I'm concerned. Due to learning about more effects and playing the guitar, my drive to do more with this song vanished, but it's at a loopable point so I'm cool with that. I have admittedly been working on a bunch of other FamiTracker songs while playing around with effects and instruments, so this one has sort of lost interest to me.
Feel free to mess around with it and/or leave constructive criticism!
This is the last of VRC6 from me for a while, I took Mex's advice and went back to just the good ol' 2A03 on my other projects and have learned a whole lot. I'll probably upload one or two to the short clips thread.
EDIT: It helps if I actually click "Upload File"! Sorry about that.
If it weren't for your use of all these effects & the noise channel, your song reminds me of the game Bloody Warriors: Shan-Go No Gyakushuu.
Owing to the fact that you've enabled an expansion that you've never used, I can understand why you lost interest in adding more to this; you're still new to FamiTracker & are still experimenting with the possibilities that can be applied at a basic stage.
Mex gave the best advice; once you stick with the basic limitations of the plain 2A03, it will give you a chance to learn the limits & how to push them. But so far, your work looks very promising (& you have a great teacher).

Technology: the one thing that's hated & cursed at by all engineers, technologists, scientists & technicians!
I just looked up Bloody Warriors on Youtube (never heard of the game before) and I can definitely hear some similarities.
And yeah, I feel like before I can really go anywhere else with any songs, I really just need to start taking songs I like apart and using techniques they use.
I don't really want to use the DPCM channel all that much because I really just like the chip sounds for percussion (in any of the 4 other channels), however I've been thinking of messing around with the Zxx effect to tweak the volume of the Triangle channel. I guess I'll see how that goes.
