Nice cover! Did you use NSFimport? (I won't shame you if you did; I use midis to help with note precision when covering)

We all use NSFexport to export NSFs, BattleBeard. :P

But yeah; it's great to see something done honestly with NSF Import (instead of plagiarizing songs). And the results can be very great (as proven here).

Yeah, I used to use MIDIs (with something like LMMS or Renoise) a lot... but now I really try to get things by ear (usually without channel separation, like I did those LOZ/Bonk/Ecco/Lynx covers, for example.) because I found a lot of them to be inaccurate or tedious and often can't find a MIDI for something. It would be a lot easier if I could separate channels on the Lynx, though; maybe if I hack an emulator.

TBH, I felt kinda bad using MIDIs. In retrospect, I guess it's not such a bad idea; just like using a full score.

Man, I want this game so bad now... just to blast this song straight from the new NES I'm probably going to pick up soon. :D

I think most people only enjoy games where Tim Follin was the composer because the music is so insanely badass... :p

speaking of which i have a cover from another of his soundtracks (target renegade if any of you have heard of it), i'll attach it to this post

again excuse the crude filename xP
