I've been in a bit of a bad mood today, so I decided to open FamiTracker, then proceeded to stare at it for a few minutes and then just started laying notes down. This is the result.

At first I was going to use the 2A03 alone, then I thought I'd use the MMC5 and expand a little bit, but I finally settled for the VRC7 and just repeated section A with more material. It's not much, but I think it's reasonably good for something I've come up with in just over an hour. I apologise for how short it is though, and also for the cheap ending. I hope you'll forgive me...

Enjoy nonetheless.

Wow, do you need a hug, or something? :P

Seriously though - I enjoyed this quite a bit. Is there a chance it will be nurtured any further?

Edit:
P.S. What's the difference between the two NSFs?

Yeah, well I had to go to a funeral today... Y_Y

Nice song btw. Sounds like something out of a 16bit RPG.

This is really nice. That choice of loop point is kinda torturous though.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that, had to go to bed at that point.. >.<

I might just continue it some time, maybe. Anyway, thanks for the comments, everyone.

Well, just like I said, the second one is optimised for playback in VirtuaNSF (which enjoys screwing up any VRC7 NSF spit out by FamiTracker by messing with the patches, the mixing, etc).

Wow, this is gorgeous, JR. I really like how the VRC7 stuff is so subtly used.

Thanks! I've been using the VRC7 quite a bit these days (mostly for testing purposes and comparing VirtusNSF output vs everything else) so I've had the opportunity to really get acquainted with how to use it, and how to mix everything properly with the 2A03, make my own custom instruments while spending less than 30 minutes on each, etc. :p I'm happy to see I haven't wasted my time then!

Well, I'm glad my melancholy served a purpose then. :p
08/09 I HEARD THAT BEFORE.
Really? Where? I realise it's a pretty basic chord progression, but were you referring to anything in particular?
But if you need to talk, PM me. I'm here.
Why, thanks for the offer, but I've got friends for that, thank you.

Thanks again for the kind words, everyone, I really appreciate it!

Kinkin, perhaps you're thinking of the town theme from Final Fantasy V, which has that sequence of chords at one point.
