Hello, guys! I thought it would be a good idea to post everything I've done so far with Famitracker (please note I'm pretty bad at it, and that I progress in a little slow way). I've been using Famitracker since 1/1/2012, and have only completed one song, which I have already posted in these forums (I also have another song in progress, but I won't post it until I finish it).

Please, tell me in which areas I have problems (note that most of my first compositions are pretty bad, and nowadays I don't understand how I've made such terrible things). Also, please tell me how fast I am progressing (maybe I'm not so slow). Finally: I've been using Famitracker for 18 days, but only actually used it in 7 or 8 days.

1 was made in 1/1/2012.
2 was made in 1/1/2012.
3 was made in 1/1/2012.
4 was made in 1/1/2012 (actually 1/2/2012, but it was 0:15 AM).
5... where is 5?
Song 1 was made in 1/1/2012 (actually 1/2/2012, but it was like 1:30 AM).
Fountain was made in 1/2/2012.
6 was made in 1/2/2012.
7 was made in 1/2/2012.
8 was made in 1/3/2012 (it is terrible, and it was my first time trying to use drum effects with the NOISE channel).
9 was made in 1/3/2012.
10 was made in 1/3/2012 (actually 1/4/2012, but it was 1:57 AM)
11 was made in 1/4/2012 (I was testing instruments, there isn't any song in that file)
Random Song 1 was made in 1/13/2012.
12 was made in 1/15/2012 (I was trying to do an echo effect, similar to the echoes from Fear of the Heavens, but it was a failure).

Also, when 9 restarts, something happens weird... can someone explain me why it happens?

I doubt you could call these songs.

Slow down and actually try to finish something, and you might just learn how to actually structure music.

The problem with 9 is that you're trying to delay the pattern jump command. That's not really a smart idea. Move it into a different channel.

First of all, all of these should be posted in [url=http://www.famitracker.shoodot.net/forum/posts.php?id=2853]this topic and not its own topic, since NONE of these qualify as full-fledged tunes.

Secondly, posting this many files at once is frowned upon, consider attaching a ZIP file instead.

Lastly, these aren't very interesting to listen to. It would be in your best interest to work a little harder on making a single tune instead of scattering your efforts across fourteen tracks. You seem to have a good grasp of how FamiTracker works, but not of how to make music. Perhaps making covers first would be a good idea, at least until you have a better idea how to make chiptunes? Just my two cents.

EDIT: Reading all this I come off as being a bit rude, I apologise as it wasn't my intention. But I still stand behind everything I said.

I thought it was posting multiple times in one topic to fit all the stuff, jrlepage...

And they're right, this isn't songs, the time between each composition plus length/quality of each just says they're just little doodles.

That's definitely a no-no, but ZIP files are just more convenient than 7-8 attachements in the same post, let alone 14.

Agreed (concerning both zip files & how there's very little in the way of music in WakeOfPoseidon2's posts).

Most of these songs were made within the span of 4 days (& I most certainly don't mean within the full span of 96 hours straight). Very little time & almost no effort was taken at making music, as this looks more like WakeOfPoseidon2 is still trying to get used to the tracker itself.

This said, WakeOfPoseidon2 should just keep on playing around with the tracker until he feels fully confident that he can post something we can all call music. Until you get used to what each command does, take jrlepage's advice; cover an existing song (I'd even tell you to cover a public domain song like a national anthem or something).

The time it took you to make all of these, I would still be working on the intro of an FTM. Take your time and try to follow an idea for more than 2 frames. And an easy tip is to actually LISTEN to what you are posting. Does it sound good to your ears? If it doesn't, it sure as hell won't for us either. Practice my friend. Practice. As TechEmporium and JrLepage mentioned, try a cover or 2. If you fail at covering, I just don't know how you can compose.....
