Why the hell not?

This is everything I've done since August (when I started) in chronological order. BE WARNED - THERE'S A LOT OF MEGAMAN.

I didn't really check any of it over much, so all the fuck-ups are still there. Plus as a bonus: I never clean up my modules, so there's plenty of embarrassing noobisms to be found in instruments/hidden patterns. :D

I also threw in my VRC6 Cave Story OST which is a work-in-progress, but I haven't touched it since the new year, so I figure it's valid.

I've even included my horrible Genesis covers (M.U.S.H.A. has two songs, FYI).

500 Fun Points for the first person to correctly identify when I started using NSF Importer (sorry I ever questioned you, rainwarrior :P).

Happy New Year, or something...

Did you start using importer at Blaster Master?

Oh man lots of good stuff in here.

Really enjoyed:

- All the TMNT stuff of course.
- All the Megaman stuff (I only own Megaman 3 in real cartridge so most of your covers are from there and I love them!
- Cave Story <3
- Everything to be honest lol.

Your MUSHA covers aren't as bad as you seem to make them.

We seem to love the same songs from the same video games. Very nice. And I will say it again, I LOVE Adrenal Daydream. Listening to your originals makes me think you have some inspiration from Melodic Death metal bands like Old In Flames and Dark Tranquility. Could it be?

Glad to see there's really a Dynamite Headdy in there. (Though... I guess that means I should cover something from FF4, eh?)

Good covers. Hadn't heard the Kirby's final battle before and really liked it. Good job on Hero's Quest. (Did anyone make a backwards version like someone was strangely suggesting earlier?)

Nice catch! Old In Flames, old Cradle of Filth, and Angel Dust (power metal) to name a few. Truth be told though, my parents never listened to music around me so the first music I ever really actively listened to was NES/Genesis game music. So I guess in some strange way FamiTracker is helping me to get back to my roots.

...but I digress...

The MUSHA covers are accurate, but those guitar slides are fucking atrocious, and the Dynamite Headdy track (my favorite from the game) is in DIRE need of better volume control. I've been thinking about revisiting it.

As for the importer - it wasn't Blaster Master (though rainwarrior made an attempt to talk some sense into me - those crazy triangle percussion blips were the reason I first made an account here). I'm realizing this may have been a fucked up question to ask, but meh. The fun points are still on the table. :D

rainwarrior: FFIV? DO IT! :P I think I remember seeing that backward Hero Quest post... HAHAHA yeah that's not happening.

Oh wow, so I wasn't the only one who attempted a super-accurate cover of Cave Story's entire soundtrack o_o...

(Blank songs removed for listening pleasure)

It's really interesting to see our different choices on the songs that overlap.

Also these songs are great, some of these games I owned as a kid, and it just sends chills down my back...

Ah HA! I knew there'd be someone else! :D Yeah, YouTube turned up some really sad results and I knew what had to be done. :P

I agree, comparing the choices made was kind of fun. Well, carry on then, sir.

I started working on this if anyone wants to finish it up. It's a bit on the loud side but should be OK (the original songs were too).

Something definitely happened to your triangle echo DPCM, at least on 3.7.

FT is now properly emulating how the NES would handle that sample

Thanks! I swear I got lucky. I had a good idea of what I was doing, but on a few occasions (like the loop transition) I just plugged in bullshit and it worked! :D
