Hey, guys!! As you may have noticed, I'm new in here, and I'm also a beginner with Famitracker. As you may also have noticed (or maybe not), I'm not very good speaking english.

This is the first song I've ever composed (actually the second, the first one I created with the Mario Paint Composer, but it is terrible).

It is divided in three parts, each part in one frame, as you'll probably notice when you hear the song. I've worked on it for about 45 minutes, although most people in here could probably come up with it in about 10 minutes.

A few more things:
- The song is decent at best, although most first songs must be like this one (in terms of awesomeness)
- My knowledge about Famitracker is pretty limited (I don't even know how to make a drum sound)
- After hearing it a lot of times, I've noticed that the song takes inspiration from Metroid's style. Yesterday (when I made the song) I fell in love with Kraid's theme from Metroid, so that's probably where the inspiration came from.
- Sometimes, the song will slow down a bit and you'll hear a little, annoying glitchy sound. Just thought I should note that

Nice start, could use some improvement and it's a little repetitive, but it's a nice start.

Wait... the channels seem to be in different keys altogether... good enough.

Well... for a start - it's quite good. It will be good for you if you do songs in FamiTracker with 64 rows for now. Think about making a proper melody first, because this one sounds... well, like you're playing random notes on piano or something like that. The more songs you do, the more improvement will come soon.

Make covers first so you learn how to use the program. Once you can make cool-sounding remixes of songs, then make original songs.

I know it sounds pretty bad - because of that I said it is decent at best. And, while the song is a little random, I wanted it to have three different parts that I could listen to and recognize each of them.
As for doing covers first, I prefer experimenting with the program, although it isn't a bad idea.

Thanks to all of you guys for telling me tat my song is repetitive, a little random and, overall (let's admit it) not good. While receiving a lot of positive comments is something good, comments that tell you what to improve on are much better ones.

Protip: You can't affect the volume of the Triangle channel. It will be either on (full volume) or off (no volume).

Try increasing the volume of your square channels for a start. Once you can get a decent balance with volume, try working on getting the pitches to blend well together.

Overall, I've heard worse first attempts, so keep at it, you show some promise.

Well, technically, you can with the zxx effect... though you'd probably need to track at 900BPM for best results, it creates a popping sound and it affects the noise channel as well.
