But yeah, I think you're focusing way too much on DPCM and timbre rather than melody/harmony.

Actually, it's not too bad if you change a few of the notes, get rid of most of that annoying thing going on in the triangle, and change some note placement. I kinda like the double bass drum pedal in frame 02...
