It took a couple hours to implement it in the code (and duty cycle still doesn't work for some reason) but here's Wheel Gator's theme recorded from VirtuaNES.

Music hacking for MM3 is really well documented. And it's really not difficult, you just need to have a lot of sleep before you try something like that. It's just "translating" music into hex format that the game recognizes and getting used to the differences between famitracker music and ROM music

I know that some places have an anti-rom policy and I can easily see why but I'm not that convinced that this is from a MM3 ROM; I could easily record myself an MP3 from FamiTracker and then claim it was from Super Mario Bros.

It sounds nice, that I admit, but I'd need some proof to back the claim.

An IPS patch perhaps?

edit: if FamiTracker's format and MM3's format are simple enough I could write a converter.

I'm not sure, beacuse some graphics are already edited, and that would spoil everything...You'll see eventually :D
By the way retrotails, can I put your rainbow cemetery song in my hack? Of course you'll be given credit in the end credits.

That's fine. I'd clean it up, but I'm sure it'd be changed a bit in your conversion anyways.

Well yeah, I mean I have to replicate the DPCM with the noise channel and the Sine lead with the Triangle channel, so the bass goes to a square and that means the orchestra won't be perfect. Also it probably won't have have the right vibrato setting on it because vibrato and tremolo are defined in the instrument settings and aren't effects.

Here's a newer version with a questionable proof in it. You can actually hear megaman teleporting in during the music, of course I could've just edited the sound effect in there...

Anyway, here's some info if you'd like to try and make some sort of a converter for music.

For even further proof, post a sound file with sound effects interrupting the music!!!
