Thanks for the comments guys, I don't think it's anywhere near my best cover (it's worthwhile, but only just), but I'm glad it's being received so well.

Oh wow I loved this song even though I never owned the game!

I don't remember the Square 1 being so loud though, it's hurting my ears a bit (Although it might be these cheap earphones, I'll have to listen to it when I get home)

This sounds great. I love the fading arpeggios. What's with the Square 1 channel starting on frame 7, though? I don't quite remember that in the source material.

The original played a cowbell instead of the arp at that point in the tune.. DPCM wouldn't work because it's already in use, so I used Square 1 instead, which worked well since that channel played the fading arps up until that point.

Setting the channel volume to 8 seems to work better, though.

How do you handle it that in so little time? I'm impressed. For the quality of work and by the time you took to do it.

Since you got such clean DPCM samples, couldn't you just have layered the cowbell sample on top of the congas with a sound editor?

Yes, but that would leave an unused channel, and result in lower-quality DMC samples. Besides, the original had the cowbell replace the arp, so I thought it was fitting to use the square channel for that purpose too.
