You're improving. You now have a steady drum beat & a steady bass. However, I still see that you're having problems with defining a clear, easy-to-follow lead. Your lead, in contrast to your drum & bass, is still sporadic; it sounds like you're trying to force those notes to flow together.

Keep practicing, though. You're improving.

I have a question. What kind of music influences the ftm's you make?

So basically, you like heavy rock/metal mostly? I see.
I have a suggestion though. How about try to cover a song? It can be anything, but I suggest something simple. Let's hear a cover of a song at least 20 seconds long, I want to hear how you cover something and compare it to these ftm's you're making now. Rock is probably difficult to get sounding good in 8-bit, so maybe a bit of practice with some covers would help you learn certain things.

I'd have to agree with Raijin here. A good cover can actually teach you a lot, both in how to better and more efficiently use the tracker, and about music itself. I've actually learned a fairly good deal just by tearing down songs and rebuilding them in Famitracker. My suggestion would be to use something like Audacity to slow something down first, so as to make it easier to pick out notes and timings and such.

No he's trying to forget all the music he's ever heard so he can be truly original.

Even still rainwarrior, a cover would help alot with not only good ways to make music, but bettering yourself and learning more about the tracker, and tracking in general.
I made a quick demo here that might give a small idea of how things work. Notice how I have both squares playing in unison. They are assisting each other with the harmony. I also have the drums and bass playing in unison but assisting the main leads and playing to the beat and general mood of the song. Also, I don't know a thing about music so I'm not the best to explain this stuff, but I hope you get what I mean.

You know what? I actually enjoyed this. I would see this is a MagMax style game or something.

You are improving.

Your first works were way too random for me, but you're starting to shape your style into something slowly but surely.

Keep at it.

1. V30? Really? Once again, Vxx is only useful from 00-03 for 2A03 squares, and does nothing at all on Triangle.
2. Speaking of Triangle, again, the volume column does nothing but turning it on or off.
3. 2xx effect. Stop using it so much. In fact, never use it again unless it's actually warranted/needed for a song.

As it is, I'm sorry, but FCE sounds like it is literally dying. It sounds like the music itself is being beaten to death, and all those notes are just crying out in pain as some unknown assailant just... Murders them. It does not sound good. At all.

As far as the fail cover is concerned, I looked up the song you based it off of (The Mollusk by Ween), and while you actually seem to have gotten the drums down, the rest... Well... No. The baseline sounds similar, but is totally off in a "Sorry, but I'm rather tone deaf and did the best I could" sort of way, while the flute is kinda off in a "Sorry, but I'm rather completely deaf and did the best I could while also possibly being blind" sort of way.

As far as FCE being an edit of Fail Cover... I don't hear it. At all. There are no similarities. Everything is changed completely. It's not just an edit. And no, taking the original .FTM and deleting everything and starting over while keeping the instruments isn't editing. Nor does FCE sound better. On the contrary, I'd actually say that Fail Cover is leaps and bounds better than FCE, and if I'd heard them in the opposite order, I'd say that FCE was made first, and Fail Cover was made after quite a lot of practice later. And that's saying something right there.

I don't know what you think music is, but a whole bunch of random pounding on a keyboard while aggressively pitch bending and making notes go in all sorts of weird ways is no music. The closest thing I could conceivably compare your music to, for the most part, would be Aphex Twin, and that's stretching the definition of "close" so far it's about to break. And you know what? They can get away with the whole dischordian thing, because their music actually makes sense from a musical perspective. There's a time signature or some sort in their music. There's actual beats, and logical note progression that doesn't make your ears bleed. Your stuff? At least most of what you've shown thus far? Is not. FCE is a very large step in the wrong direction. And this isn't just from an opinion point of view. This is from a musical standpoint. It's just plain WRONG. In fact, I'd say that FCE crosses the line into the category of noise. Just plain noise. It is not music. It is noise.

Put down the tracker, delete FCE, and forget going in that direction, if you want to make anything that even remotely sounds good. Look at Fail Cover. You know what you did right there? You took a more simplistic approach. You know how many effects I see used there? One. And it's actually valid. You know how many volume changes I see? Also one, and it's also valid. You know what I don't see? The sure signs that someone's having a seizure on top of a keyboard while it's set to record to Famitracker. GO IN THE DIRECTION OF FAIL COVER. I CAN NOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH. IF SIZE TAGS STILL WORKED, THESE WORDS WOULD BE FILLING YOUR SCREEN.

Ok, that's enough ranting from me.
