I had a listen & must say that you have a good rhythm & bass. I like how you're using the Hxx effect, but it's only a small pattern & it's a bit too dissonant.
It seems like you may need to start working on creating a lead if you want to further this style; perhaps, as good as you are with rhythm & bass, you may be starting off with music a bit too fast by trying to make a lead that sounds "over the top."
One thing's for sure; you need to find out what exactly is your particular style. What music do you listen to? What artist or group inspires you? And most important of all, how can you imitate them?
In other words, a good way to learn music & develop your own style at a moderate pace is to make a cover of an existing song. Try to imitate an existing song using FamiTracker. Be sure that it's something simple for you, that you can easily accomplish & learn from (for example, I started off with a cover of [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVXHbRime5Y]Clubbed To Death. Sure; it dodn't sound as good as I hoped, but I did learn a few things about FamiTracker, using it more effectively & about my own style).

thats good advice. im glad i was finally able to get some. before i read this i was kinda going at progression, in my own way i started out just making a beat to make a new song. its not done but i want to post it up here just to see what you think.
im planning on making bass after i finish the beat.
Hmm... That use of the Fxx effect changes the overall speed of your entire sound track; Fxx should only be used at times where a speed change is necessary (i.e.: making a song with a swing, or gradually transitioning from one part of the song to another).
In the way that you're using the Fxx effect, you're more likely to find making a bass difficult. As long as you can produce either a stable bass, stable percussion or both, you'd be good. Keep trying with what you have first, but don't forget about the option of making a cover.

There's no such thing as a "good key," honestly. The right key depends on what mood you want to produce in your song.
Take my attachments as simple examples; I imagined that I was making music for a simple puzzle game called Sokoban (the soundtrack is in test.ftm). There are 4 songs (an intro & songs 1-3).
In test_keys.ftm, you'll find the key signatures that I used for each song, in the original order that they play in test.ftm. The first key is C major; my introduction is in C Major. Song 1 is in B major, Song 2 is in an Arabesque C major & Song 3 is in E flat minor. [url=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/33/Circle_of_fifths_deluxe_4.svg/400px-Circle_of_fifths_deluxe_4.svg.png]This is the tool we use to figure this stuff out. If I'm wrong about my scales, guys, please correct me.
Now, except for Song 2, the overall feel of this soundtrack is childish; you'd most likely expect to hear this music in a kindergarten class. The only special key was used in Song 2 & you can probably imagine Muammar Gaddafi getting trampled by a camel stampede (or something like that). :P
Now, there are different key signatures that can be used to convey different moods (like sadness, happiness, horror, etc.). It all depends on what you want to convey.

[quote=Javel]D minor and F major share the same scale. Check out the attached FTM. If you only use these 7 notes then it won't sound "out of key". There's a couple of other notes you can use as well but start out with these.
The song in the first post is completely atonal (meaning it has no tonal center at all).
