Hi everyone. I'm very new to Famitracker and have only made two covers. I'm still trying to learn how the tracker works and I'm slowly implementing more "advanced" stuff everyday. It's a lot of fun so far! My main motivation for learning this is to share my love of video game music and hopefully start creating my own. But, without further ado, here are my first two covers.
I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to make them sound better. I feel like they don't have the same amount of "umf" as other NES tracks.
Here are the original tracks.
Batsugun - Heart Beat

Nemesis 2 - Last Exit

There are some missing notes in the Batsugun cover, trying to play by ear can be tough and I think I couldn't decipher those notes. But anyways, please let me know what you guys think.
Is it just me or are there a ton of people who are new to FamiTracker recently?
Anyway, my advise is to make more use of the channels and choose more difficult songs. These covers sound great, but the original songs are pretty simple. BTW, some people can be really picky about accuracy around here, probably better to start out with originals.
Originals huh? I don't know anything about music theory and all that or where to even start. The only thing music related in my life is that I took piano lessons back in 5th grade and stopped (WHY!?).

My guess is it's because of [url=http://www.famitracker.shoodot.net/forum/posts.php?id=2590]this. Jake says he pointed a lot of newbies to this place. Could be wrong though.

I couldn't think of more misplaced advice if I tried. In order to acquaint yourself with a music-making program, especially if you're a beginner musician, it's best to try and reproduce an existing tune; that way you can put creativity aside and focus on learning how to use the program.
These are pretty good btw, Ratikal. Welcome to the forums.
Thanks guys. I'm starting to get the hang of this more every day.
Tried my shot at a "harder" cover. Tried to use more instruments and the noise channel more. Please tell me what you think and let me know
if I can make this sound better.
