No, I'm not giving up on this one like I did with Battle Network...I have a cart of this game and overall it's my fav in the series.
So I tried to upgrade it a bit!
I mainly used the DPCM and the VRC6 for echo, chords and support, don't wanna make much new stuff as I don't think it would be nice to listen to at all.
6 tracks are done at the moment

you have a ton of channels playing the same thing, in every track - don't start pulling a kinkinkijkin on us.

MegaMan 3 is also my favorite MegaMan of all, mostly because that's the only one I actually own in original cartridge as well. But I must admit, VRC6 doesn't do it for me. Not because you use the same notes in octaves, but just because MegaMan music just sounds better in 2a03. Perhaps there is a way to make it sound better in VRC6, but right now i'm not convinced. Don't give up though. Don't let us stop you from doing anything.

I also think Needle man needs a lot of work on some parts, your Magnet man is much better overall.

And BTW your battle networks was coming along pretty good, why stop?

That's exactly what I was afraid of...
Flaming (even if it's supposed to be constrictive) that completely takes all my motivation.

To reiterate:
And now, let's watch this thread be bombarded with collective hate because it doesn't reproduce the original soundtrack with 100% accuracy.

*le sigh...*
Something tells me you wouldn't get the same reaction from remixing, I dunno, the Street Fighter II soundtrack.

That's why I've been trying to avoid doing NES covers, because those could be made with 100% accuracy, whereas doing a NES version of a song from an other console could not.

Here, I redid the first frame of the title theme in like 5 minutes, don't have time to redo it all More harmony, fewer octaves.

The problem is that I made 2a03 covers first and then I did what I did with the VRC6. I wanted to go with NES compatibility.

I'm kinda surprised by the reaction here, because I liked it and want to hear it finished.

The only thing I'd suggest is stick to tempo 150 and control tempo with speed only (if you need a tempo between speeds alternate rows of F05/F04 for example). When you have a note on every row, you can really hear the unevenness due to the tempo that can't match 60hz exactly.
