So I'm back with a sequel soundtrack to the first Kid Power. Like the original thread, I'll keep updating till I'm down to the last track. I gotta say this is my best work I've done since I started Famitracker, so I hope you'll all enjoy. Let's get started!

Opening 1 - This would pretty much explain the events from the first game, and how Johnny and Robert started their adventure. Through many highs and lows, they subsequently saved a small region from a evil trouble maker. But before he died, he sent them a cryptic message about how the REAL evil leader would soon return exactly a year later...

Opening 2 - It has been exactly 12 months since the first events, and the journey still continues to find the Master, the being who is said to possess an amazing martial arts power that can make a real difference. Johnny and Robert still hope to find him before the evil leader makes his claim to the world. Little do they know... they will not be alone in their quest this time. For they will meet familiar faces from the past...

Title theme - Nothing too fancy, just something to get you pumped for the new adventure.

Main Menu - A total variation from the theme of the first game. I wanted it to have more of a purpose.

That should be enough to get you guys started. Comments and feedback is always welcome.

EDIT: Made a little enhancement to the melody in square 1 on the Opening 1 theme.

OH MAN!!!!! XERO, you weren't kidding. This is your best work so far. You have improved steadily with every tune. Opening 1 is so good...total classic NES style. If you'd told me this was made in 1989 I would have believed you.

I really hope you end up doing the entire OST for an old-school 8-bit style (or real NES) game eventually. At the rate you're going, that is not a far-fetched idea.

I think the main menu theme should have a stronger opening. It's kinda...eh...until Frame 04. I'm glad you're kinda reusing motifs from the first Kid Power - I like it when sequels tickle your ear with renditions of earlier tunes, or at least quotes from them.
e.g. Mega Man, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden...etc

I appreciate how you're sticking with a unified sound between the tunes. It makes sense to use the same DPCM for all of them, cuz that's what would happen in a real NES game for obvious reasons.

Nice, simple, catchy hook in the Title Theme. The stuff that classic NES tunes are made of...

Keep on keep on keep on!

EDIT: I noticed one note in the Title Theme where that weird pitch glitch shows up in the vibrato...jrlepage pointed this out to me in one of my tunes - certain notes like A-3 sound all choppy when you apply vibrato. In this case, it was a G-3, but you had a Qx2 after it, making it an A, and when the vibrato kicked in, blam. The workaround is to change the pitch just slightly there to avoid that break when the vibrato LFO waveform goes negative - in this case I used P82. Of course you have to turn it back to P80 for the next note or it sounds sharp.

New tracks, my ninjaz. Time for some Introduction Cinemas.

Intro Cinema 1 - As it turns out, the evil baddie from the first game didn't die after all. He managed to survive in the shadows of the dark areas of the world, feeding and living off of whatever he can find. However, he IS on the verge of destruction, every breath seeming like it's his last. And before he can fade away, an surprise quake rattles the ground before him. And among his being emerges the evil he spoke of. The true leader as finally arrived. And there is only one thing on his mind... GENOCIDE.

Intro Cinema 2 - Healing his apprentice of his mortal wounds with his evil magic, the leader transports them both to his secret base, buried somewhere within the crust of the earth. There, he revives his ancient and most dangerous army of villians the world has never heard of of. This is a battle he is PREPARED to win, and he will not take any prisoners. Not only that, his now rejuvenated apprentice has a bloodthirsty score to settle as well...

Intro Cinema 3 - The re-introduction to Johnny and Robert. Both now at the age of 11 since the first adventure, they have spent the past year gaining basic experience of combat. Their skills have greatly improved, but they still believe that they are below average. And as they skitch a ride behind an 18-wheeler on their skateboards, they decide to travel the country to gain as much training and knowledge as possible. For they know that the time has arrived for the ultimate challenge.

Let me know what you all think so far!

Here is level 1. Taking place in good ol' USA.

Remember, there are 3 stages per level, followed by a boss fight.

And this time, each level has its own Overworld theme.

Time to head to Level 2! Johnny and Robert decide that their journey is not limited to certain places, and are now gonna take on the entire world. First stop: South America!

World Map - After you pass Level 1, this opens up to show you where to head next. You can always go back to the previous level to find stuff you forgot.

Overworld 2
Level 2

Let me know how they are!

Wow, just wow. These tracks are wonderful.

Is there a game being developed to go along with these? Because I totally want to play that game now xD.

Sadly, no. These are just ideas I've had for a while. I figured since I can't make the game, I can at least make the soundtracks.

But, thanks, Kuro. That means a lot. :D
