There's a decent Atari Lynx emulator (Windows) called Handy, if you've never tried it. You'll need the rom for the game, as well as a bios rom for the system. But it works pretty decently in my experience for most of the games I own. The exception being some graphics glitches in "Shadow of the Beast" when you call up the items menu.
If you aren't already familiar with the website, you might want to drop by Atariage.com as well. Lots of info on all Atari systems, including the Lynx.
Yeah, I compiled HandySDL on my Linux machine (I'm a Linux user) a few months ago, and I have Handy on my PSP and Caanoo. :)
I actually have two Lynx and a 7800.
How long have you had that Caanoo and how has it treated you? I thought about getting one but I don't trust those things as much after my A320 broke ridiculously easily.
Awesome cover btw. I have no idea how anybody got it that quick.
Well, it's pretty high-quality, more so than you'd expect. However, the joystick does wear out a bit over time, though not too much of a bother. Great for people who use emulators a lot.
Apart from emulators, I run a couple of trackers on mine, a few interpreted games like Quake and Doom, and virtually every homebrew game available for it, including Wiz and GP2X software through Ginge.
I use LGPT and Milkytracker. I've actually compiled Milkytracker myself to run on the Caanoo :D. It's surprisingly easy to cross-compile code for the Caanoo, not much harder than compiling for Linux. What's cool about LGPT is that it supports USB-MIDI control, so you can use it to control a MIDI device or whatever.
I'd highly recommend it. The price has even dropped recently IIRC.
Just this morning, I was playing Earthworm Jim for the SNES on it.
Oh, and I compiled Handy for the Caanoo as well. It's not a very good port; I couldn't figure out joystick movement properly, so you'd have to flip the screen, hold it upside down and use the face buttons as a dpad and the I and II buttons as A and B. Also, I haven't managed to get it working with a frontend. I've been too busy to work on it since September.

I had no idea Milkytracker was on a portable system, that's badass. LGPT (and LSDJ) are great, but not quite my cup of tea, even though I know how to use them. I've used both on my A320 and PSP, but Milkytracker would be so much cooler. I want a Caanoo now. So if you compiled it, does it not need Ginge? Sorry to completely derail your thread, I'd use PMs if I knew you'd reply.

Milkytracker sourcecode contains a version for PocketPC and GP2X; I basically just adapted it to work for the Caanoo as it is basically just an updated GP2X.
Nope, no Ginge needed. In fact, it does work via Ginge, except the mouse cursor is invisible.
You can use a USB keyboard with it if you don't like using the on-screen one, and probably a mouse if you insert kernel modules for it.
The only real problem with it is that it doesn't exit properly due to a segfault and doesn't save configuration, so you'd have to set configuration in the source code. I haven't sorted this out yet, and I don't think I will any time soon as I'm not very good at using debuggers. I might just litter the source code with printf()'s... but I haven't had the time to get everything set up again. It's quite tedious to keep running things on my Caanoo from my laptop through an SSH server.
To me, it does feel a bit tedious to use as it is designed for a computer, and LGPT and LSDJ feel more natural on a handheld IMO.
