If you played the SNES when it was the best thing out there (But we all know now that the best is actually the NES), or ANY Mario franchise game for that matter, then you should know Super Mario World's "Athletic Theme", or "The Athletic Rag", now recreated with an MMC5.
I think it sounds fine until the DCPM kicks in, then the whole thing gets overpowering, but that's probably because I've listened to it so much to get a few final touches down.
EDIT: Updated with a "yoshi mount" DMC sample. might be a little quiet, but noticeable.

Glad you like it! Took 2 days to get it all right, glad to see it was somewhat worth it.
EDIT: And another thing, feel free to edit as needed.

And, glad you all like it. One of the more "pain-in-the-neck" covers I've done.

Sounds pretty good to me. And the SNES is the best thing out there. I think this track in particular really takes me back - playing the 3rd level in my grandma's basement in '91. I never really thought of it as a 'rag' (well I didn't know what the hell ragtime was), but I guess it is.
If you're taking requests, I always liked the credits music. It's long, but it's really repetitive.

Friend, if the other tracks can turn out as well as this one, I say cover the whole darn thing!
Tall order I know, and I know how life can be (busy). But in seriousness, excellent job, and I do hope you are able to do a few more covers from the game. Excellent job!
Thank you for your kind words. And, to anyone else willing to request, I'd be happy to take requests for SMW songs to cover!

Actually, I've had some heavy involvement with SMW lately. I'm somewhat interested in this. TrackMan, if there's any you don't feel like doing/feel you need help with, let me know and I'll be glad to lend a hand. MMC5 is my favorite extension and SMW one of my favorite SNES games, so I'd be more than happy to help.
I'm a critic. I honestly love this, but it's not completely accurate. (I know because I am in the midst of a smw hack and I test the all the levels, so I hear all the songs again and again) I know that in rows 30-34 in frame 2, the bass should play c-g not e-c. I'm not completely sure about the transition, but my ear always heard what I changed the MMC5 bass part to. Included .ftm!
To be completely honest, when I was doing the first two frames I wasn't feeling lazy per se, but I wasn't... feeling up to it? Anyway, I don't know why, but after the beginning is when I wanted to be super accurate, and I knew those [particular] notes were wrong, but I couldn't find exactly the right notes. however, I THINK that most of the other notes are correct, but I don't know, I'm always editing this cover anyway.
