Hello all, as you probably can see I am new here. I have looked at countless tutorials and I just completely suck at using Famitracker. But that is where somebody can come in and help me.
What I would Like:
-5 Song Soundtrack
-Royalty Free
-Something that sounds kind of like this, only 5 of them.
What you will get:
-Beta tester, and full game for free (will be around $10)
-Complete credit for creating the music
-A link to your youtube channel, or whatever you want, on the trailer for the game
-If there is anything else that you would like for this task, ask and maybe you shall receive.
As you plan on making a profit from this game (however small it may be), you should not expect a musician to provide original music at no expense to you. A free copy of the game worth $10 is a pittance compared to what their time and craft is worth, and complete credit for creating the music should be assumed rather than granted (and included in the game - not just in a trailer.)
As Shiru is already at these forums, it's a possibility he could help, though I sincerely hope that he wouldn't accept your current conditions.
Yes I'm here. Of course, I would not accept these conditions - it is a lot of hard work, and when we talking about a commercial project (of any scale), I would prefer to spend my time to make money for myself rather than for someone I don't even know.
This work actually costs few hundreds USD, so probably you'll not be able to offer adequate payment, thus it makes sense to think about some alternative ways. Maybe offer royalty, or use non-custom music with free licences, or use less music (so you could get it cheaper), etc. Or try to make it by yourself, and you'll get idea why your current conditions aren't fair enough.
What I could offer personally, and I guess some other authors too (ask them first, of course), is to use my previously released non-commerical music under terms of CC-BY license. I.e. you can use it for your commercial works, but you should properly credit the author. Among my works it is all the music on my website in Music section, which is not marked as cover (i.e. my original works only). My credit requirements are nickname (a must) and link to the site (where possible).
As composer: Started in 1997. Any trackers, MIDI sequencers, and other stuff. Both chip and sampled music. I've also made music and sound effects for few commercial games. My favorite sound chip is 2A03. From sample-based formats and trackers I prefer XM and FT2/Skale/MilkyTracker.
Basically you do chiptunes again and again... Yeah. The longer you do, the better you are.
